But this year, as across the Middle East have actually pressed up the cost of oil, the concern of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered into sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one service is making the most of the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving rewarding too, already their client-list includes McDonald's.
